"A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder."
-Thomas Carlyle

I believe that this statement is a true statement. A goal gives you definite direction. Life is difficult without goals. A rudder on a boat gives the boat direction. Without the rudder the boat will not have any direction. You can end up somewhere good or bad. Same for someone without goals. A man with goals will go where ever they are determine to go. With a goal in mind it gives you energy and purpose. The thrills of your life starts with your goals. You have to see your target of the goals or else you will never hit.

"It's okay to be different and not be like everyone eles. If someone doesn't like the way you are don't change yourself just be you."
-Amari Barnes
It's okay to be differnt and if someone doesn't acept that you are who you are don't change for anyone. Many people are all about fitting in and they think that appearence, taste in clothes, or music define who you are. In reality, you are just being you and that's okay. Everyone isn't the same and everyone doesn't look the same. For example, Sam isn't going to look like Cat and Cat isn't going to be like Nat. That's okay sometimes it isn't all about fitting in and being the same. Ever heard of the quote "An origianl is worth way more than a copy." It's okay to be yourself you will soon be worth gold. If one person dosen't like you for who you are don't change someday someone will and you will feel apart. Society today is all about being apart of something such as a gang, crew, or squad. Eithier of thoes will help you define who yoiu are. You have to figure out who you are within yourself first. Change will come naturally and you just have to wait until that day comes.

Momerial Day

Momerial Day
What is Momerial Day?
Momerial Day is a day in which thoes who died in active military service are remembered, traditionally observed on May 30 but now is observed in the last Monday in May.

When is momerial Day each year?
The last Monday of May

What are a few ways to honor and show respect on Momerial Day?
  1. Fly the Flag
  2. Volunteer to lay flowers or plant flags at your local veterian cemetery
  3. Watch the National Memorial Day parade

Things that I will do on Memorial Day?
  1. I will watch the parade on live television
  2. Write a letter to a soldier in the military
  3.  Wave a flag in front of my house
  4. Buy new shoes
  5. Get my toes done
Reflecion
My thoughts on Memorial Day are simple. I think that it's an honor for our fellow soldiers and others in the military to fight for our country. It takes a lot for someone to actually risk their life, leave their famil, and fight for our country. I think that the least we can do is honor thoes who have died for us. Soldiers do a lot of our country weather we realize it or not. I think that Momerial Day is more than a day off from school or even a day off from work we should at least take 5 minutes of our day on Monday and give 1 minute of silence to honor thoes who have died for us. It isn't easy being a soldier and giving your all to serve our country.

If there is beauty in character, there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world. Conclusion
If there is beauty in character, there will be peace in the world.

In order to have peace we have to have peace as individuals. Peace at home, in our community, and even with our peers. We have to have peace within ourselves in order to have peace in the world. With peace comes love and with love comes kindness. Peace is an issue that some countries have difficulties with because of the lack of love one has for one another. For example, in the video we seen in class a man being generous had paid off a collage wateriss tuition and still plans to pay for her to get her Master's degree. This isn't a act of kindness that people see often and for him to pay $20,000 was so nice of him. Without character you are nothing. Character determines your own personality and well state of being as a human. An example of good character would be respecting others, being obedient, and lastly being friendly. The golden rule for a good character is treat people the way you would want to be treated.

Not really so much the body am I interested in but I have a interest in injuries and how they are caused.

Good values
"The most important thing you will ever have is good values."
-Dennis Prager
This is a true statement. Good Values is something that you think is more important than anything else. In a situation such as your dog drowning then a couple of feet over you see a human drowning who would you save? Well some people might say the dog "I love my dog I had him since I was a little kid" While others might say the human "I think I should save him because the human is more important." Well those are values that everyone has. Values play a big part of our lives. Without values love nor will happiness be able to play a part of our lives. For example everyone likes sweets but you know that if you eat it that you will gain weight and if you eat so much of it you will become obese. In this case you value your appearance or the way you look because knowing that junk food can make you gain weight you probably won't eat as much compared to if eating sweets had no side effects.

Forgiveness Student Success Statement

Forgive
"When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgives."
-Alan Paton
Alan Paton has gave us all word of wisdom.Forgiveness you might ask what does that have to do with me being happy? Well it has a lot to do with your happiness with others and within ourselves. This is a true statement and we all can agree that we aren't perfect we all make mistakes and sometimes we hold other's mistakes done to us inside. Forgiveness leads to happy destinations. When something is done to us we won't heal until we forgive. Forgiveness is he only way to heal. At times it might be hard to forgive but if you want to be happy within yourself you have to forgive. Not forgiving leads to bitterness and resent. To forgive means to not hold anything against someone or something and to let go of a harsh feeling. When we forgive we feel better. A question we should think about is what good does holding something against someone or something that has wronged you help you. The answer is it doesn't it just makes you more upset when you have a gut feeling telling\constantly reminding you of what was done wrong. We all have flaws and imperfections but it's our job to embrace our own and everyone else imperfections. Well why? Because someone might  do something to us not intentionally but accidentally &sometimes some of the things that are done to us for a reason. When one door is closed another one is opened. This relates to what Alan Paton stated because sometimes the things that people do to us are a wake up call to something or sometimes won't benefit us at the moment but later on will. The lesson here is to forgive and without forgiving you don't be happy within yourself, other, or any other form or shape.

This has showed me that many people are affected by this and since I know people who were affected by this makes me want to be more invlolved.

Eight Great Reasons To Tell The Truth
- Barbara A. Lewis
  1. Telling the Truth let's everyone know what really happened. There's less chance of misunderstanding, confusion, or conflict
  2. Telling the truth protects innocent people from being blamed or punished
  3. Telling the truth allows everyone to learned from what happened
  4. You usually get into less trouble for telling the other than for lying and getting caught
  5. Other people trust you more wen you tell the truth
  6. You don't have to tell more lies to keep your story straight
  7. You gain a reputation for being truthful- A trait most people value
  8. Telling the truth helps you feel secure and peaceful inside
Reflection
My thoughts on the 8 reasons to always tell the truth are these are some good ideas to influence people to always tell the truth. These are ways to help me cope with telling the truth. Sometimes when we do things over and over gin it becomes a habit. Habits are things you love to do and are hard to get rid of. Habits can be good or bad things. For example if you have a habit of biting your fingernails when you are nervous  all the time that is considered a bad habit because every time you get nervous you always bite your fingernails. An example of a good habit is always taking the trash out when you get home from school. That is a good habit because you are helping your mom around the house even if it's something small you do it without her telling you to do it. These are tips young teens and adults should consider taking.

Stand Alone

"Dare to stand alone. Stand up for what is right even, if you are the only one standing."
-Thomas S Manson
This is a great challenge for everyone to try to follow because you don't have to go the same direction as everyone else it's okay to be different. For example, we seen a video in class about a girl name Brook who lives in Mexico and who also is 6 ft tall. That's pretty tall for a girl but that's okay its okay to be different. Sometimes being different is the best choice you could have ever made. Not only will it affect you positively but it would influence others to take the same path you are in. It only takes one to make a different and that one could be you, me. our community, or even our peers. Let's make a difference today. Back to Brook, she is noticed everywhere she goes and that's okay stand tall. If you are going to stand tall be noticed and bring awareness.

"I would prefer to even fail with honor than win by cheating."
-Sophocles

It is hard to compete with cheaters. When you cheat you loose more than you win. When you cheat not only do you loose a lot but you also don't learn. For example in class today we watch two videos and one was about a horse rider cheating in a horse race. He was shocking his horse so that they can make it to the finish line first and so that he can win the grand prize. Luckily he was caught on camera in the middle of a photo before reaching the finish line shocking the poor horse. In the photo the horse looked scared and sad. Now if the picture was never taken he would have never been caught but he would have felt guilt for the rest of his life for being unfair. In the second video that we seen we saw a high school wrestler and his honesty pay off. His dad was fighting a battle of cancer and all the high school kid wanted to do was make his dad smile and show him his accomplishment in a wrestling game. Oh boy did he win. How did he win? He won honestly. Not only was he a winner but his component was too. Why? Because of his random act of kindness. Earlier he had lost his dad due to a heart attack and he knew how the high school kid was feeling. So he went up to the high school kid's dad and congratulated him and gave him a hug. He did it honestly and fair. He could have cheated and no one would have ever known but he did it honestly.

Skills
  • The ability to empathizes with clients
  • The ability to inspire confidence in clients
  • Accurate record keeping skills
  • Commercial skills to run a business
Reflection
Yes this career did interest me, I liked the fact that the career had to do with helping people and boosting their self esteem. I am the kind of person who likes to see everyone happy and the thought having a job where I can make someone feel happy makes me happy. What really caught my attention was that not only are you helping people but you are helping them mentally, physically, and emotionally. That is a big part that I would want to help people as far as when I am looking for a particular career I want to study for. Well why you might ask? Well because when you do something good for someone out of the greatness and kindness of your heart it makes you feel good to know that you did something right. I am all about smiles. Out of 365 days in the whole year you would rarely catch me not smiling. This is why making other people happy is a big part of what I would want to do when I am older.

"If I've got correct goals, and if I keep on pursing them the best way I know how, everything else falls into line. If I do the right thing right, I'm going to succeed."
-Dan Dierdorf
Dan Dierdorf gave us a good statement to live by. If we do the right thing at the right time no matter what we will be successful. As long as we stay on the right path we will be happy. Though on the right path bad things might cross our way but we have to learn to ignore them and not get distracted. For example in computer class we have a life planning goals journal. Basically in that journal we are suppose to right about our day everyday and them we right goals down that we have for ourselves. When we write down goals we are making a promise that one day someday we will get to them. If we didn't have a goals journal most of us will probably be on the wrong path. A goals journal helps you layout good things in your life. For example like this kid in the video we were shown in class he had a good path ahead of him and he let one thing get in his way and lost it all. He had scholarships and internships and he lost them all due to the fact that he thought that it would be a good idea to run in the middle of the field in the middle of a football game. He lost them all. Most of us don't realize that some of the things we do are not good until something bad happens or until we loose everything. Dan Dierdorf quote helps us to stay inspired and think before we do things to re evaluate if it's the right thing to do or not.

Reflection: Yes I would want to look further into this but then again I don't. The reason this career caught my attention is because I love helping people and part of this career is helping people. The reason why I would not want to do this is because they have to touch people's feet when they are stressed and feet are a big problem for me. I don't really like touching feet. However, besides  that I would love to look into this and see if this is something that I would actually consider.

An Internal Phenomenon

"The reward for doing right is mostly an internal phenomenon self-respect, dignity (self worth), integrity and self esteem."
-Dr. Laura Schlessinger

What this statements means is that when you do something right you don't always need materialistic things to acknowledge that you have done something right. The gift that you will always receive  when you do something right is that good gut feeling. That is the reward that you will always receive if you don't gain anything else. This statement also explains that self esteem and integrity is phenomenon. Phenomenon is a fact or situation that is observed to exist or happen, especially one whose cause or explanation is in a question.  Doing something right really shows someone your self worth, dignity, and how you handle your self esteem. Handling your self esteem meaning that even if you don't want to help or do something but you do it because you see someone struggling or because you know it's the right thing to do really shows your self worth. It shows your self worth and self esteem in a positive way.

Challenges As A Teen I Am Facing?
  1. High Parental Expectations
  2. Academic Problems (School)
Being a CTR student helps me overcome my challenges by always doing the right thing and trying my best to do what my mom expects me to do. Also helps me by always having faith and just reminding myself all the hard work I give now will someday pay off. Being a CTR person isn't always easy but its the best choice that you could/will ever make.

How I can help other teens overcome their challenges is by one day making something of myself even though I had many obstacles in the way but somehow managing to make it through the rain in it toughest times. I can one day share my stories and my way of thinking and the method I use to maybe help someone else.

Reflection: The biggest need that teens need is parental support and parents time and attention. What I would say what kids in society today especially need is both parents or someone taking the role. For a girl she needs a mom leading a great example that life isn't easy and challenges will come along but no matter what you have to overcome it. For a boy what I would say he needs the most is a father figure in his life showing him how to grow into a young men. Many kids today don't have both parents in their life and believe or not that does take a toll on kids as they get older and face certain situations. Another thing that kids will need the most is knowledge because life is like a test constantly testing your skills. Life is like a roller coaster it has good times but it also has bad times. Teens or kids in general just need a good role model.
