Student Success Statement

"A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder."
-Thomas Carlyle

I believe that this statement is a true statement. A goal gives you definite direction. Life is difficult without goals. A rudder on a boat gives the boat direction. Without the rudder the boat will not have any direction. You can end up somewhere good or bad. Same for someone without goals. A man with goals will go where ever they are determine to go. With a goal in mind it gives you energy and purpose. The thrills of your life starts with your goals. You have to see your target of the goals or else you will never hit.

Student Success Statement

"If I've got correct goals, and if I keep on pursing them the best way I know how, everything else falls into line. If I do the right thing right, I'm going to succeed."
-Dan Dierdorf
Dan Dierdorf gave us a good statement to live by. If we do the right thing at the right time no matter what we will be successful. As long as we stay on the right path we will be happy. Though on the right path bad things might cross our way but we have to learn to ignore them and not get distracted. For example in computer class we have a life planning goals journal. Basically in that journal we are suppose to right about our day everyday and them we right goals down that we have for ourselves. When we write down goals we are making a promise that one day someday we will get to them. If we didn't have a goals journal most of us will probably be on the wrong path. A goals journal helps you layout good things in your life. For example like this kid in the video we were shown in class he had a good path ahead of him and he let one thing get in his way and lost it all. He had scholarships and internships and he lost them all due to the fact that he thought that it would be a good idea to run in the middle of the field in the middle of a football game. He lost them all. Most of us don't realize that some of the things we do are not good until something bad happens or until we loose everything. Dan Dierdorf quote helps us to stay inspired and think before we do things to re evaluate if it's the right thing to do or not.
