As a plastic surgeon, you may perform two types of surgery: cosmetic surgery to improve apppearence and reconstructive surgery to correct appearence after an injury or to improve bodily functions.

Salary: $273,000 per year

Education: After completing a bachelor's degree program, future plastic surgeons must earn a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited medical school. A doctor of medicine program includes four years of education and training.

Skills: Excellent vision
Good communication skills
Stamina to cope with a busy an demanding role
Ability to inspire confidence in others
Good organisational skills

Reflection:
I would want to be a plastic surgeon because many people feel as if they are worth less than what they are because of the appearence they have on others or just in general. I would love to make people feel confortable in their own skin and show them they everyone is beautiful in diffrent way. One person might not have the perfect smile or even have the perfect nose, body, or lips but that is what makes someone unqiue and beautiful. My mom always talks about how if she had the money to get a tummy tuck or a mommy makeover that she would do it but honestly I think she is perfect the way that she is and she should feel that with surgery that she would look better or have a better impact on people. I feel that this would be a good career for me because I have insecurities within myself as well but I just learn to accept me for who I am. If I don't have confidence and except me for who I am no one else will. I would love to not physically do the surgery but tell people that lack of confidence is normal and changing your appearence will it really help you change the way you view yourself? It isn't what is on the outside it's all about what is on the inside.

osteopathic physician

Osteopathic Physician

Duties and Responsibilities: Inside Osteopathic Medicine. Doctors of osteopathic medicine (DOs) often treat their patients by manipulating the musculoskeletal system, which includes nerves, bones, joints, and muscles. DOs have the same responsibilities and privileges of MD's, such as prescribing medicine, performing surgery and prescribing illnesses.

Salary: $229,000

Education: Earn a Bachelor's Degree. Acceptance into an osteopathic medicine program generally first requires a prospective osteopathic doctor to earn a bachelors degree.

Demands and needs:

1) Complete medical school
2) Obtain Licensure
3) Complete training
4) Career Advancement

Reflection: I would not like to work doing this. I am not very well with things when it comes to bones. I would not like the job of giving surgery to someone. Not only do I not like some of the things listed above but I do not like the fact of me being responsible for someones life while doing surgery. This is why I would not like having this job in my opinion.
