Be True

"I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody who stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong." - Abraham Lincoln

This is an honorably true statement. I believe that being truthful is the first step to a happy and successful life. This is a good quote for young people, even for anybody in general. This is good for kids who don't know what kind of people are good to hang around with in school. This teaches you to stand with those who are going to encourage you and lift you up. Only stand with those who have a good impact on your life and who are truthful. Abraham Lincoln was a good man. He was very truthful and honorable. Everyone knew of him as a A student who never told lies and showed intelligence. He was one who everyone loved and he will always be remembered for  his hard work and success that he has had in life. He has taught others the way of living. He was a great man and will continue to go down in history. His name will continue to be passed down generation to generation.

Reflection:
I would want to be a plastic surgeon because many people feel as if they are worth less than what they are because of the appearence they have on others or just in general. I would love to make people feel confortable in their own skin and show them they everyone is beautiful in diffrent way. One person might not have the perfect smile or even have the perfect nose, body, or lips but that is what makes someone unqiue and beautiful. My mom always talks about how if she had the money to get a tummy tuck or a mommy makeover that she would do it but honestly I think she is perfect the way that she is and she should feel that with surgery that she would look better or have a better impact on people. I feel that this would be a good career for me because I have insecurities within myself as well but I just learn to accept me for who I am. If I don't have confidence and except me for who I am no one else will. I would love to not physically do the surgery but tell people that lack of confidence is normal and changing your appearence will it really help you change the way you view yourself? It isn't what is on the outside it's all about what is on the inside.

"Character is higher than intellect."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
I believe that this statement is 100% true. Character runs a long way. Character shows deterimation, dignity, and ambtion. Hardwork pays off all the time. Character is higher than intellect as important as intellect is. Charater is a part of everything we do in life. Our character defines who we are. Intellect is the understanding one person. Character is someones personality.  Our character is based on alot of things. Such as school records, team records, or anything in our daily lives. Character brings out the truth in us. Character brings out who we really are. Character shows someone's true colors. True colors as in who we are. The real us. For example if you are a real quite person and somone is messing with you and you constantly tell them to stop. Sooner or later you get annoyed and you snap because you were constantly tellling them to stop. Them annoying you showed your true colors when you scolded them.

That is one of the main reasons I wouldn't want to be a physical therapists assistant. Also because this career isn't something I would actually be interested in. Hardwork is the key to success. Self confident is the best kind of love anyone could ever have. Never lack your self confident. In Doing What's Right

"True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what right."
-Brigham Young

I believe that this statement is 100% true. Freedom can only exist in doing what's right. Many people think that freedom is just having fun, partying, and being wild. But really freedom is having fun, enjoying life, and being honest and still doing what's right. Brigham Young the founder of the school Brigham Young University. He truly does emphasize on doing what is right all the time. Even at his school kids are to be respectful and follow the 8 code laws. However, one of them is to always do what is right. We should always do what's right even if everyone is against it and always follow a CTR pathway. Being honest is something that he takes really seriously as well. For example, if you are always going out and having fun you are still expected to behave yourself and do what's right. Your true freedom is being able to have fun and still do what is right. Freedom is a privilege in the world and to have freedom you have to show that you deserve it.

The Truly Good

They're Only Truly Great Who Are Truly Good."
- George Chapman
I believe that this statement is 100% true. When you do good you feel good when you do bad you feel bad. Only those who do good all the time because it is their true intentions are truly good. For example in class we seen a video of this soccer team who had let this kid of special needs win a touchdown. They didn't care if it meant them not winning. They were doing something sincere so that the kid can feel special and as if accomplished something. This is something everyone should live by and the earth would be a happier place. Greatness is the key to success and freedom. The greater you are the more freedom you have. Honesty and greatness builds character.

Student Success Statement

"Many think that the long term gain will be worth the long term pain, but it isn't, In addition, using steroids is cheating, and there is nothing worse in sports than cheater. Don't do it."
-George Mitchell
I believe that this statement is 100% correct. There is nothing worse than a cheater. The excitement of victory only last a minute but the pain from knowing that you didn't do it alone last a lifetime. Many people believe that it is worth it until they see that it will hunt them for the rest of there life. Being a cheater is choosing the wrong and isn't on the CTR path. Cheating doesn't lead you to the road of success. For example, if you cheat on a test and see that you scored a high score you will be proud in the beginning but then the more you think about how you actually got that score you will feel guilty not only for that moment but for a lifetime. As for what we seen in class about the baseball player Mark McGuire he had beat the record of the most home runs of the season. The over excitement seemed to last a lifetime. But it didn't. What did last a lifetime was the guilt of the selfish unfairness of that season. He quoted "I wish that this would have never came into my life." Talking about the steroids he used to cheat that season. He also quoted " I am sorry to all the baseball fans." This is a guilt that was hunting him and now will sting him forever. Now the real question is, is the short term gain worth the long term pain?

Social Worker

Social Worker

Duties and Responsibilities: They intervene where children are in danger of neglect or abuse. Some help arrange adoptions, locate foster families, or work to get families back together. Salary: $64,360

Education: A Bachelor's Degree is the minimum degree required for entry-level employment in social work. Advanced education and experience are necessary for licensure at more advanced levels in the field. A Master of social work program focuses on clinical skills and developing relationships with clients.

Demands and Needs: Requires a Master's degree in social work (MSW)

Reflection: I will love to be a social worker. Many people think that social work is bad but they have it all mistaken. Social work is about helping your community, kids in danger, or even just having someone to talk to when you are feeling low. My cousin was a social worker but she didn't really enjoy it. The reason being she didn't like the idea of taking kids away from there family. But however, she did like to be involved and it warmth her heart to see kids in danger being taken care of and out of that situation. There are many benefits that comes form being a social worker. All social workers aren't bad people. For example my cousins were taken in to foster care because of some reasons. They had a social worker who was relaxed and calm and always made them feel as if they had someone around. They felt a connection with her and eventually they became really close. If I had the choice to be a social worker or any other career I would probably choose a social worker because I really do admire what they do. Social workers are stereotyped because of the work they do but there are many kinds of social worker careers.
