Psychiatric Aide

Psychiatric Aide
Duties and Responsibilities: Assist mentally impaired or emotionally disturbed patients, working under direction of nursing and medical staff. May assist with daily living activities, lead patients in educational and recreational activities, or accompany patients to and from examinations and treatments

Salary: $25,400

Education: Most jobs for psychiatric aides require completion of high school, and many require a driver's license to aid in the transport of clients to outside activities or appointments. Psychiatric aides are usually well-supervised and are expected to learn their responsibilities while on the job.

Requirements: Usually, a high school diploma plus on-the-job training and a driver's license

Reflection: I would want to work as being a psychiatric Aide because it is something similar to being a registered nurse. The duties and responsibilities aren't that much different and have some alike tasks. This job reminds of someone who is helping and caring. I feel like this career is as good career for anyone who loves working with people and cares about others. I would definitely look further into this career to see some perks that I might like and see if this is something I would want to do in the future.
