Radiologic Technologist
Duties and Responsibilities: Radiologic technologists are the medical personnel who perform diagnostic imaging examinations and administer radiation therapy treatments. They are educated in anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety, radiation protection and basic patient care.
Salary: $59,260
Education: There are formal education programs in radiography that lead to a certificate, an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree. The associate's degree program is the most common. These certification programs typically last from six to twelve months, and include both classroom and clinical training.
Demands and Needs: They may earn certificates, associate's degrees or bachelor's degrees in radiology to be eligible for employment in the U.S.; however, most radiology technicians enter the career with associate's degrees. The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology accredits radiography programs and schools.
Reflection: I would not want to be a radiology technician. The reason being that body science isn't my best subject and something I am interested in. I would want to do more like a doctor somewhere there in the medical field. However, radiologist technician isn't something bad but it isn't something I would want.
